Fashion
Clothing styles have always mirrored the prevailing attitudes of the times and this is certainly true of fashion in the 1960s. Mod, short for 'modern', refers to a youth lifestyle that emerged from London during the 1960s, and quickly spread to America, Europe and Australia. The 1960s saw the appearance of the mini-skirt. New soaring hemlines created huge controversy when they first appeared, exposing centimetres of thigh never before seen in public.

HairStyles
Fashion has pushed the boundaries over the last few decades that hair no longer has the social power that it used to have. Hair used to have a lot of power then. Bouffant hairdos became very popular during this decade. In this style the hair is teased and piled high on the head and kept in place by sprayed on hair lacquers. This was seen as glamorous and a favorite hairdo with stylish evening wear.
